The resort known as Shovi was established in 1929. It is located in Upper Racha. Shovi is located at 1650 m above sea level and it is one of the most important balneological resorts of Georgia. It is famous for its mountain climate and carbonic acid hydrocarbonate sodium-calcium mineral springs. The mineral waters of Shovi are used to cure respiratory organs, the gastrointestinal tract, breast and urinary tract diseases, lymphadenitis, secondary blood pressure and other ailments. The season in Shovi lasts between June and October.
